Union Budget 2021-22
On 25th of February 2021, The Management Club of BBA- ASTORBS, conducted a student seminar that provided the students with an insight into the Union Budget of 2021-22 on the 25th of February 2021, in the college Library. The 1st semester students of BBA, B.Com, MFA and M.Com departments participated in the budget review. Where 13 teams from 4 departments comprised of around 70 participants presented their topics that briefly illustrated the budget proposals for this financial year which rests on six pillars explained by Union Minister of Finance and Corporate AffairsSmt. Nirmala Sitharaman.

Chief Guest of the webinar, Sri B C Patil, Hon’ble Agriculture Minister, GoK, presented a clear view of current Commodity Derivatives Market scenario and highlighted the future of the market as well.
Dr Venugopal K R, Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, Bangalore University - JBC, inspired all the participants through his soothing words and elaborated how an individual should practically look at the commodity derivatives market.
Dr B N Srinivasa Murthy, Director, Indian Institute of Horticulture Research, Bengaluru, explained in detail about the basics of commodity and derivatives and stressed on how one can actually make use of the instruments to avoid risks in future.

Workshop on VAP on Entrepreneurship
Dr.Usha Gopinath was the resoure person for the VAP which commenced on 23rd Feb 2021 for BBA students. The session included a lot of activities related to Group discussion and Team building activities.
Training Session - “HANDS-ON SPSS”
Virtual training session on SPSS was carried out by Mr Dharmendra H, for the students of School of Commerce abnd Finance to train on SPSS software and carry out Data analysis using basic and advanced statistical tools.
Workshop on Income Tax Returns Filing
AIMS Centre for Consulting and AIMS School of Commerce & Finance conducted a Workshop on “Income Tax Returns Filing” on 17 September 2021. Mr. Koushik D R was the resource person for the session to help individuals understand the importance and process of income tax return filing.
Club Officials training session
COTS is the annual training session conducted by the district to train the Institution and community based club officials on 29th August 2021. The grand launch of our theme SPECTRA by DRR Rtr. Anurag Patwary. PDRR Rtr Rajesh Subramanian and PDRR Rtr Naveen P Senna conducted the training sessions for presidents and vice presidents of the rotaract clubs. They threw light upon the roles and responsibilities, importance of teamwork, crisis management, etc. for the growth of the rotaract club as a whole.
FDP on Curriculum design, development and implementation
The FDP was held on 22nd December 2021, Wednesday @ 3:30 pm, at AIMS Auditorium for all teaching staff of the Institute. Dr. Ramesh Raj Aiyer and Dr. Jayashree Nair were the resource persons for the program. Dr. Aiyer shared the purpose of adopting OBL as a Criterion oriented than traditional reference based learning and an overview of Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy to be adopted for preparation of the Learning Outcomes. Dr. Jayashree shared the Academic Process at AIMS which included the Planning → TL Process → Assessment → Feedback → Reporting process and emphasized on the need for planning the Course Files to ensure learning outcomes of students are met.
VAP - Advanced Excel
The Advanced excel training was held from 8th Jan 2021 - 13th March 2021 for the BBM and B.Com students.
Industrial visit to BEML and HAL
On 18 December 2021 , The students of BBA and BBA Aviation Programs participated int he Industrial visit to BEML(Bharat Earth Movers Limited) and HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) Under Azadi Ka AmritMahostav, week-long public exhibition showcasing it's years of heritage, current and futuristic products. The students also had an exposure towards industrial functions and their working culture. There were also guided on manufacturing procedure on metro rails and Aeronautical.
On 19th and 23rd of February 2021, A debate competition for the 1st semester students of BBA and Aviation were conducted by the BBA department. Two rounds of competition were conducted. The first round was the selection round and was conducted on 19th of February 2021 and the Final round was conducted on the 23rd of February 2021.8 teams participated with full zeal & enthusiasm. in the first round. 3 competitive teams qualified for the final round. .Prof. Kiran, from the BA department showed her presence by judging the Final round of the debate competition.
Club Activity - Chart Making
On 12th March 2021, Students of 1st semesters B.com were assigned social issues related topic by the second year students to inculcate social belongingness among the students and they were asked to come up with creative solutions for the above issues.
TEAM Building Activity
On 4th March 2021, Team Building Activity for the 1st semester students of BBA and BBA Aviation was conducted by the Management Club of AIMS - ASTROBS on 4th March 2021 at the amphitheatre. Three team building games were conducted and these were based on number arrangement, verbal and non verbal communication. Each game consisted of 3 to 4 rounds. Students were divided into 5 different teams. All 5 teams participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Mental Ability Games
As part of Management Club activity, a Mental Ability quiz along with Sudoku puzzle was conducted for the students of BBA General and BBA Aviation of 1st, 3rd and 5th semester.
The students were asked to group themselves in teams of 4 members each. A Google form link was sent out to the students in each semester which consisted of 16 questions related to logical reasoning.
The questions were related to the following topics: Direction Sense, Coding and Decoding Missing Numbers, Blood Relations
Hawkeye, Flying pen
On 17th December 2021, 2 club activities were conducted by the management club of AIMS. 5 teams were engaged in the following activities:
ACTIVITY 1- Hawkeye In the first activity the students were shown a video which they had to keenly observe and answer the given questions which were based on the video.
ACTIVITY 2- Flying pen The second activity was conducted in ground where students were given pen with 5 knotted threads, wherein they were supposed to balance the thread and draw a triangle.
Blood Donation Drive
On 27th of October 2021 Rotaract Club of AIMS sponsored by RotaryBangalore Udyog in association with JeevaRaksha Voluntary Blood Bank organized a blood donation camp and successfully collected a whopping 115 units (40,250 ml) of blood.
Blood Cancer Awareness
On 11 October, 2021 a webinar on Blood cancer and need for Lifesavers was Conducted by DKMS BMST Foundation India."LET’S TALK ABOUT BLOOD CANCER". The webinar was conducted by Ms. Nandini and Ms. Jyothi from DKMS BMST Foundation India and shed light on the challenges in finding a HLA match.
Canopy of Hope
On 12th of October 2021, Canopy was distributed to infants below 1 year at Construction site for working parents and infants. The handy canopies were collected from the district 3910 and the members of Rotaract club of AIMS distributed them to the identified infants.
Session On Entrepreneurship And Leadership “SUCCESS AVATAR”
On 15th October 2021, In collaboration with Rotaract udyog and Rotract club AIMS, the session targeted on motivating the youth to be the longer term entrepreneurs and leaders of this nation. Speaker was VidyangMoka who impressed and actuated students and created students to know what's very success in life.
Dandiya Night organized by Rotract AIMS in collaboration with Rotaract Bangalore West as a flagship fundraiser event which concentrated on Menstrual Health Management of Aasha workers and Paurakarmikas of both Rural and Civicworkers for this Rota time.
Nature Walk was organized by Rotract AIMS in collaboration with Environment Team, RI District 3190. Rotract AIMS and were guided by Mr. Bhanu Prakash, A Naturalist, who helped the students to understand and learn new facts about ‘flora and fauna’ of our nation & also made students to understand the Significance of gaurding these native species.
"Swachhata Pakhwada" as a part of "Swachhta Abhiyan" was initiated, with the objective of bringing a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and practices of Swachhata-meaning Cleanliness from 24th November to 26th November 2021. The cleanliness drive was organized by ACCS(AIMS CENTRE FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE) AND NSS team. The entire event was successfully coordinated by Dr.Shivaprasad, Ms.Anitha.B and Mr.Karthikraj and it was effectively executed by the student groups.
Awareness on Segregation of Waste
ACCS in Collaboration with Department of Social Work & Alur Grama Panchayat took up a project on Segregation of Dry waste and Wet waste on 14th and 15th December 2021 to spread awareness among people of urban-rural areas on how to segregate the household waste. Awareness camps were conducted at Kudregere, Alurpalya, Totadguddhahalli, Alur cross &Achitnagar areas.
Visit to Akshaya old-age home
On 25th Dec 2021, Students visited to Akshaya old-age home, Sahakarnagar. The objective was to sensitize the youth on being compassionate towards elders and society. Students had an interactive session with the senior citizens and the home nurses and got a glimpse on their daily livelihood and their past lives.
Rotaract Club of AIMS organized Vaccination Drive On 2nd Dec 2021 at the campus
On 16th February Saraswathi Pooja 2021 was celebrated. It is begun by purchasing of flowers and all pooja items. The students of all departments are engaged for the preparations of the pooja of Lord Saraswati. The Saraswati Idol was decorated well. The Area was nicely decorated. Our Principal Dr. Kerron Reddy ma’am was invited to do the arthi of the Lord Saraswati. After pooja, prasad was distributed among students, faculties and staffs.
Teacher's Day Celebration
The Teachers Day Celebration was held on September 8th 2021 as a remembrance of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. It was an ACSD initiative along with Rotaract Club of AIMS. The program started with lighting of lamps and talks by Director, Principal, Registrar and Director of ACSD and Chief Guest- Dr. Savitha Ravindra: HOD department of Physiotherapy, Ramaiah Medical College. Later sports and fun activities was organized for the teachers followed by lunch and a gift given to staff as token of appreciation and gratitude.
Dasara Celebrations was conducted on October 13th 2021. It was an ACSD initiative along with Rotaract Club of AIMS. Cultural activities were organized by students which resulted in active participation from all. Prize distribution were done for the students who has won in the cultural events. Overall the event went on smooth with the help of student coordinators as well as faculty coordinators.
Christmas Day Celebration
Christmas was celebrated with joy and pompiety on the eve of Christmas, 24th Dec 2021. COO Dr. Priyanandanreddy distributed gifts to all AIMERS.
International Men's Day Celebrations
International Men’s Day is celebrated worldwide to highlight the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. One of the six pillars of International Men’s Day is to improve gender relations and promote gender equality not only for men but for women too. In this light our theme for 2021 is “Better relations between men and women.”
ACCS in Collaboration with MSW & Rotract Members Celebrated International Men’s Day on November 26th 2021. MSW students and Rotract members handed chocolates to all male faculty members and staff to express their gratitude for establishing a safe working environment on campus. The event emphasised positive role of all the male staff members in promoting happy environment at campus.
UG Graduation Day
UG Graduation day was celebrated on 27th November, 2021 for the outgoing students of batch 2018 – 21. The guest on the occasion was the renowned ex-Lokayukta and High Court Judge, Justice Nitte Santhosh Hegde. The program started with the graduation procession followed by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and welcome speech by Dr. Kiran Reddy. All the graduating students in their graduation dress with the tassel on their right received the light of knowledge from the Chief Guest, Principal and all the teachers. The guest speaking on the occasion said, “Dream Big and Achieve what you desire for”. Program heads handed over thge achievment certificates to the graduating students.
International Civil Aviation Day Celebrations
The students and faculties of BBA-Aviation Program celebrated International Civil Aviation Day on the 7th of December 2021, in which Prof. Bhargava and Prof. David gave the students a brief introduction on ICAD, the importance of International Civil Aviation Day and about the theme for the current year- “Advancing Innovation for the Aviation Development”. The professors also provided the students with the awareness on the theme and how new innovation are brought up in the Aviation sector.
