Day 1 : 16 - July - 2018
Induction programme of MBA/PGDM 1st year new joiners.
Day 2 : 17 - July - 2018
Day 2 of induction programme witnessed Industry visit of students to Unibic.
The second session was taken by Dr. J.P. Reddy, Registrar AIMS, He briefed the students about policies and procedures of AIMS. Therein he discussed various rules and regulations which students have to follow in AIMS. He introduced them to various procedures related with examination. He introduced them to university liasioning office and people whom they can meet regarding problems. He also talked about the discipline and importance of punctuality. He informed that throughout they have to be on time for their classes and every activity. This was followed by a workshop on Introduction to Case Study method of learning by Prof Ramesh Ayer, Director, ACIL.

Day 3 : 18 - July - 2018
The session was to apprise the students in building their career. Mr. Ravi told Attitude, knowledge and skills should be build up by every student in order to succeed in their life.Student underwent 2 minute test that involved paper folding activity and ended with a group activity. The group activity involved students working in a group made by the speakers.
students were taken for an Industrial visit to Mysoire Sandal Soap Factory KSDL. They were accompanied by Dr. Eti and Prof Gourav of AIMS, MBA Department. Mr. Balakrishna from R&D greeted the faculty member and students. He took the to Sandal soap museum where all the products were displayed. Then he took a session in which he brifed abot the history and growth of Sandal soap.
Day 4 : 19 - July - 2018
The Day 4 started with segregation of students in 2 groups. One went for mentoring session take by Dr. Vijay Bhaskar, Director ACM for informing about his focus centre and briefed students about various facts of mentoring and body language. He told them how they can protect themselves from getting de-motivated and how AIMS is committed to bring the best out of each and every student. He also discussed how each student will be placed under faculty members who will be there to guide and assist them in their hardships.
The other group was handled by Dr Eti, she grouped them and assigned task to each group. Each group was required to make a product brand it and along with tagline, jingle and also create a promotional video. They were given half an hour to think and design their product, tagline and also promotional video.
Day 5: 20 - July - 2018
The day 5 started with two sessions simultaneously. Dr. Saurabh talked about Market Survey and he briefed the students about entrepreneurship & start ups. Dr. Saurabh discussed about what is required to become an entrepreneur. He also told that for any start up the first thing required that is the Idea of product or service along with its process & new technology. Professor threw light on idea generation concept.
Prof. Supriya and Prof. Gourav conducted management activities in which students enthusiastically took part as it was fun based plus learning's taken away were, team work, strategising, playing smart, right time right decisions, planning ahead so on and so forth.
students went to field to gain practical exposure of marketing concepts and prepare profile of entrepreneur chosen by them. All the students divided into groups of 6 members. Students approached various entrepreneurs from vegetable seller to hotels. Students did a good job.
Day 6: 23 - July - 2018
The session started with discussion of research projects. The resource professors for the session were, Dr. Brahm Sharma, Dr. Somnath and Dr. Madhusudhan. The discussion focussed around the concept of research, its implications and importance in management. The research process was discussed was discussed in details. After the session on Research, Dr. Madhusudhan briefed students on critical aspects of Maths and statistics. He discussed their role in business decision making and also in research as well.
Day 7: 24 - July - 2018
The day 7 induction session was about sustainability. The resource professor for the session was DR. Brahm Sharma, Director AIMS ACS. Professor Sharma began his session by explaining the meaning of sustainability & how its affecting out planet. Dr. Brahm Sharma sir gave a talk on Global Warming /Greenhouse Effect/Climate Change. He said that the terms “Greenhouse Effect”, “Climate Change”, and “Global Warming” are often used interchangeably, yet they really refer to three separate and distinct processes.

First session was taken by Dr. Tenzin. Professor made familiar students to the basic concepts of economics. The second session was taken by Dr. Madhusudan Zalki for basics of mathematics.
Day 8: 25 - July - 2018
The day 8 induction session was about sustainability. The resource professor for the session was DR. Brahm Sharma, Director AIMS ACS. The second session was taken by Prof Saravana Kumar on information technology. Professor has talked about the various aspects of Microsoft power point and also told that how to make professional presentations. Third session took by Prof. Gourav on principles and practices of management. Professor explained the features of business and discussed about the downfall of FedEx airlines and how they took over their idea of continuity concept.
Day 9: 26 - July - 2018
Day 9 of induction program was based on learning outside Academics. Mr. Nitin, CEO Mind Pourkour, was the resource person of the session. Mr. Nitin gave management lessons to students through various management activities. He initiated his session by warm up activities. He made the groups of students and each group was consisting of two members. He asked students to repeat four actions. After the warm up exercise, he asked students to perform 'Human Lock'. In this activity they were supposed the open the lock without breaking the chain.
foundation programme started with three sessions on basics of accountancy, Fundamentals of statistics and Basics of information technology. Sessions handled by Dr. Srinath, Dr. Zalki & Professor Sravana Kumar respectively.
Day 10: 27 - July - 2018
Professor Ranganathan addressing MBA 1st sem students, Professor talked about idea generation and it's implementation is foundation of any start up. He motivated students and said that one should believe in their ideas & have confidence to overcome their fear of failure. They should have audacity to get their hands dirty to be a successful entrepreneur. Systematic planning, persistence, influencing power, art of taking the opportunities & exploring new world can make you an entrepreneur.
Second session was taken by Professor Gourav for principles and practices of management. Third session was taken by Dr. Madhusudan Zalki for basics of mathematics. This marked the end of day 10 of MBA PGDM Induction programme.
Day 11: 28 - July - 2018
One day Bangalore sightseeing activity was arranged for MBA 1st sem students as part of augmentation program
Day 12: 30 - July - 2018
Day 12th started in auditorium. The resource persons for the day was Mr. Bharath, CEO, Edupinnacle. He discussed with them the role of IT in managing business. He also added that IT is now inevitable as government is focussing on digital economy. All business across the globes have embraced IT
The second session was devoted towards the conduction of regular foundation programme in which Prof Gaurav took Principles and practices of management classes, Dr Madhusudhan gave lectures in statistics and Dr. Srinath taught them Basic Accounting Principles.
Day 13: 31 - July - 2018
MBA department along with ACCS organized a visit to Matru Vatsalya old age & Rehabilitation center situated Jnanabharathi Layout, Bengalurui as a part of the augmentation program.
Day 14: 01 - August - 2018
The day 14 session began with ACR Director Dr. Madhusudhan introducing ACR to the new comer students. He first discussed the role of research and publication in the life of a manager and management student. He said that for a sound decision making research is very important. He informed students about existence of AIMS Centre for Research and how this focus center takes care of research and publication. He informed them about the previous publications and research journal that is being published by ACR.
Day 15: 02 - August - 2018
The day 15 session aimed at alumni interaction of first sem students with previous batches. This interaction was arranged by C&PR department. Mr. Ravi and Mr. Mehtab from this focus centre arranged alumni interaction. Mr. Nikhil from Amazon, Mr. Madhu and Mr. Rijo from Delloitte were the alumni who visited campus.
Day 16, 17, 18 : 03, 04, 06 August - 2018
Day 16th, 17th and 18th were devoted towards research work. In this Dr. Somnath and Dr. Madhusudhan gave tasks and assignments. These were related with industry in and around Peenya. The objective was to get them a feel of research. They were given names of the company and meet HR in the firms given by them. Name of few firms visited by the students include - Ring Forgings Pvt. Ltd. , Namma Karkhane, Imran steels, Sri Vinayaka Engineering works, Bhotika Ispat Pvt. Ltd. To name a few
On 6th August, students were also involved in activities related with National Management Week. In this they visited Government Peenya High School as a part of community service. They interacted with students on various societal concerns like child abuse, women safety, environmental pollution, road safety. Students had charts and placards which they prepared by themselves which were conveying social messages.
Day 19: 07 - August - 2018
Day 19th started with introduction of AIMS Focus centre ACIL. The session started with Prof Aravind introducing ACIL. Thereafter he presented a PPT informing in detail the activities of focus center. He then introduced Prof. Ramesh Ayer Director ACIL. Prof. Ramesh discussed in detail the possibilities of higher studies abroad. He told that about various tie ups of AIMS and how they will be helpful in shaping up the career.
workshop by Ms. Nivedita from Mind Parkour. The workshop was on Image Management. In this Ms. Nivedita discussed about power of image, power of dressing and how to put across our image in front of others. She also discussed the elements which are needed to project ourselves positively in front of others.
Dr. Brahm Sharma talked of that Energy sources are depleting and we need to have alternatives which are safe for environment. Fuel resources need to be utilised wisely. Climate change he said is another big challenge is basically man made. We need to Switch off lights when no one in room, Switch off vehicle engines when halting at traffic signals. These message were delivered through chart papers prepared by MBA students. The charts also conveyed messages on abstaining from throwing waste in river and how to promote greenery.
Day 20: 08 - August - 2018
The noble cause for which all had gathered was to promote breastfeeding. It was a social initiative undertaken by management students under the guidance of Professor Kalpana, Prof. Anitha, Dr. Brahm Sharma, Dr. Saurabh, Prof. Sarvana, Prof. Supriya and Professor Gaurav. Marathon started from the front gate of AIMS Institute the motive was to make people aware about the advantages of breastfeeding and to promote awareness related with breastfeeding.
In the mean time a group of students were chosen for product training which was planned by Sante Mernaud.The students were trained upon how to approach saloons and experience real life selling. They were assigned a special task which they have to complete in a stipulated time given by the firm itself. This will also involve research.
The second session was devoted towards the conduction of regular foundation programme in which Tenzin taught Economics for Managers and covered the concept of production through a case study.
One group visited Future Foundation (Madellu) orphanage. Faculty accompanying them were Prof. Anitha, Prof. Supriya and Prof. Gourav.
Day 21: 09 - August - 2018
Day 21st started with presentation of focus centre of AIMS, ACC (AIMS Center for Consultancy). Resource person for the session was Dr. Somnath, Director, ACC. Professor informed students that research is a vital tool of building knowledge and facilitates efficient learning.
A group of students went for marketing survey under ACC assigned by Santa Mernaud. They went for data collection from Jayanagar.
The second session was devoted towards the conduction of regular foundation programme in which professor Sravana Kumar taught Basics of Information Technology. Dr. Madhusudan gave insights about statistical concept.
Day 22: 10 - August - 2018
Day 22nd of induction program started with presentation of 'Paisa Vasool' activity. Resource person for the session was Dr. Somnath, Director, ACC. The aim of Paisa Vasool activity was to check the reality of money lending system in India. Professor informed student that we should understand the value of money and how poor people are surviving with small amount of money. Professor divided students among 10 groups and asked students to perform three exercises. Each group supposed to cover at least 10-12 industries.
Second exercise was based on formal money lending system. Dr. Somnath asked students to do a survey of ATMs to know that how many ATMs are there in and around Peenya, how many ATMs are actually working, which type of ATMs are there-ON Site ATM or OFF Site ATM and how many transactions happen in one shift. Third Exercise was to explore services offered by Paytm Application.
Day 23: 11 - August - 2018
Day 23rd of induction program started with presentation of 'Paisa Vasool' activity. Activity guided by Dr. Somnath, Director, ACC. The aim of the activity was to analyse the prevailing money lending system of India as well as to compare formal and informal money lending system. Each group visited 10-12 small traders. Every group has given 10 minutes to present and 2 minutes for question and answers.
